FCTA to establish FCT University of Technology
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has unveiled its strategy to create the FCT University of Technology, aiming to expand access to higher education and alleviate overcrowding at the FCT College of Education in Zuba, Abuja.
Dr. Danlami Hayyo, the Mandate Secretary of the Education Secretariat at FCTA, shared this announcement during the inauguration of Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, Chairpersons, and members of Standing Committees at the College of Education in Zuba, which took place on Thursday.
Highlighting the significance of education as a top priority for the current administration, Hayyo emphasized the Education Secretariat's commitment to supporting the government's educational initiatives.
Explaining the rationale behind establishing the FCT University of Technology, Hayyo stated, "The primary goal is to alleviate the congestion at the College, and if feasible, we will also consider establishing a polytechnic to accommodate the growing number of young individuals pursuing tertiary education in FCT."
Furthermore, Hayyo pledged to secure increased funding for the FCT College of Education in Zuba, with the goal of enhancing its infrastructure and essential facilities.
