Chelsea fans react to Lesley Ugochukwu’s performance in Bournemouth draw
Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu made his first Premier League start during Sunday’s draw against Bournemouth.
Lesley Ugochukwu, who’s just 19, started at the base of midfield in the weekend’s goalless draw.
The £23million (BBC) Frenchman got his opportunity in the side due to the injury absence of the likes of Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.
He certainly did enough to impress the Blues fanbase with his individual display during the 0-0 draw.
The general mood with supporters right now is one of disappointment after Chelsea dropped more Premier League points. In fact, it’s now just one win in the five league matches this campaign.
The Blues are dealing with a very long injury list to some high-profile first-team players, but head coach Mauricio Pochettino still has a talented XI at his disposal.
For Ugochukwu, he played 90 minutes today, starting in midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher.
The 19-year-old youngster showed some positive moments both on and off the ball, especially for someone inexperienced in the English game.
Ugochukwu recently explained he’s developing a great understanding with Pochettino (Le Parisien). He didn’t let his head coach down on the weekend.
A selection of Chelsea fans believe Uguchukwu was a rare bright spark in the disappointing Bournemouth draw.
